Contains handwritten and typescript notes and personal correspondence, hotel bill, store receipt, NAACP membership card, etc.,
of family members related to a prominent black Baptist pastor in Boston, David S. Klugh, Sr. Most of the correspondence belongs
to Eolyn [Klugh] Guy and concern personal matters including the birh of her son. The rest of the contents include: One letter
and one receipt belonging to David S. Klugh, Sr., one calling card of Mrs. David S. Klugh, one store receipt and one NAACP
membership card (1942) belonging to his son, David S. Klugh, Jr., a typescript story, "Story of the Circus Parade" (1 p.),
and a hand-drawn program (5 p.) for a stage play [likely an informal family or church play] titled, "Poverties of 1933" featuring
the Klugh children. Inside the program are hand-sketched scenes from the play, in ink, and parts of song lyrics, one of which
is written in Black English verse. Also includes five playfully written typescript notes written on behalf of Eolyn Guy's
three-month old son, M. Guy [Maurice Jr.], to other family members. Also includes a photocopy of a newspaper clipping (The
Guardian, Dec. 21, 1935) with a portrait of Dr. Klugh and a story about the one-year anniversary of his death.

Eolyn C. Guy was the sister of Reverend David S. Klugh, Sr. of Boston. She was the author, under her maiden name, Eolyn Klugh,
of the article, "Colored girls at work in Boston" (Opportunity; Oct. 1928; p.295-299), a survey study of occupations held
in Boston by young colored women with some high school education.
Reverend Dr. David Simpson Klugh, Sr. became pastor of the Peoples Baptist Church in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1918, serving
until his death on Dec. 21, 1934.
